As President and Managing Member of Woods Capital, Michael leads a boutique advisory firm focused on institutionally based financial structuring, capital solutions, and real estate development across the pillars of innovation, infrastructure, and impact.
Michael is recognized for his ability to create transformational growth, accelerate new markets, and build resilient organizations. As a general partner in Founder Friendly Venture Capital’s seventh fund, a partner at Carbon Quest Solutions, and a board leader at Roman DBDR, CROVER Group, and Harmony Group, Michael operates at the forefront of cutting-edge industries. His earlier career includes distinguished leadership roles as CEO & COO of Rothschild & Co. Asset Management U.S. and CEO of DWS Investments, where he drove billions in asset growth, introduced innovative investment products, and built award-winning teams.
He has successfully led multi-billion-dollar asset management businesses, driven strategic turnarounds, expanded global operations, launched category-defining innovations (including the world’s first globally approved 3D construction printing material), and structured large-scale capital raises across public and private markets.
Michael lives on Long Island, NY with his wife, Jennifer, and their twin daughters, Audrey and Ella. Beyond his professional life, Michael and his family own and operate various entrepreneurial ventures, including Woods Property Services LLC, Woods Private Ventures LLC, and Woods & Daughter’s Co.
